The concept of a Constitution that recognizes the right to protected free speech is alien to a Progressive. They believe that they represent good and Conservatism is an evil that deserves to be eliminated. They were one Left Wing Judge away from eroding the rights of anyone who disagreed with them. This will not happen with Republican control of the Supreme Court , so this election was the most important in decades. I am glad that they are exposing both their hypocrisy and true intentions.

thumbsup.gif I support the right to protest NOT the right destroy property. I have done the Right to life march in DC. Not so much as a piece of paper on the ground after. Any one who comes to these dressed in black and a black face mask should picked up immediately.

Prudence, indeed, will dictate that Governments long established should not be changed for light and transient causes; and accordingly all experience hath shewn, that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable, than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed. But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object, evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security.

I don't understand why it's continuing since Nov 8th. It is disgusting. If anyone talked about the PRESIDENT in another country they would have a price to pay. What is going on?

thumbsup.gif All this from the tolerant, open minded and inclusive side. Perhaps if they embraced the ideals and love of Christ they would understand that workout faith , it's really hard to love another as yourself. The greatest commandment is to love ones other. But I guess you need to be a believer for that. Can't we love each other, love our country even though we may not agree. Come on people. Let us love another.

thumbsup.gif What the Democrats really want is "their" White House back, and they will rally their allies in the news media to keep the public pounding of our President going until the low-information voters get the idea that Mr. Trump really is unpopular.

The Democrat Party's contempt for the average voter in this country is showing. If we're lucky, enough voters will wake up and turn even more of their incumbents out of office in 2018.

Their propensity for disrespecting Our Flag is consistent. When asked, "What are you protesting?" their enraged replies are vacuous. While down there, in the gutter on one knee... they would benefit by dropping the other knee.

thumbsup.gif 25 years ago I was a college student studying social work. I was surrounded by extreme left wingers, socialists. I remember my first day of class being asked why social work? I explained how the family structure was so important and that the breakdown of the family lead to problems within the society. My professor laughed at me, patted me on the head and said I was misinformed. Soon I would understand that the traditional family was oppressive and the government was responsible for providing for it's people. It's where I learned white guilt and that only people of color could be discriminated against. Discussions on a revolution were common. Saul Alinsky and others like him were considered almost heroes. The means justified the ends, so if you needed to disrupt society, with violence and false accusations to get what you wanted, you did so. My professor, shortly before graduated said what a "good little communist" I had become. And he was right. Then real life began for me. I got married, had 3 great kids and saw that I was responsible for my actions. And that I had personal accountability to care for myself and my family. Charity, of course, was important to help others less fortunate. But it was my choice to give to whomever I thought was in need. I see the actions of today as that "revolution" that was spoken about 25 years ago. Freedom of speech is a joke. Anything you say that does not align with the left is immediately labeled negative. Does nazi, fascist, racist sound familiar? The left is all about this utopia, where everyone gets along and we are all responsible for our brother and anything goes. The larger government is responsible for the individual's well being. Sounds great in theory. However, you lose what makes this country great. Freedom. What the mob doesn't understand is that if they win this revolution, the ones who funded this war, who sit in their ivory towers will have all the power and we the people will have none.

thumbsup.gif One day after the Donald assumed office, women around the world lost civil rights, LGBT even more so. I know so because I saw it on TV, and on the computer some were dressed up with little rubber wading pools wrapped around them. They were serious, but I never heard which roghts were stripped from them, and so quickly too.

Desperate people, desperate measures, for those who are incapable of entering into measured debate.

Trump has had power for one week and already questions about what has he done for "us" from a media stoking the fires of discontent.

Mostly peaceful protests by mostly goofy folks, with a hundred masked white anarchists destroying property, might work in a small banana republic, it should not work in the USA, but when much of the "news media" joins the protest, they are as bad as the anarchists.

thumbsup.gif Bob - As usual, SPOT-ON!!! As an American, a nurse, and a college professor, I can see no gain in the temper-tantrums of the dissatisfied in our nation. For 8-years I have swollowed the presidential election pill of "my-choice-didn't-win" with sorrow and disbelief, but never once did I choose to second-guess our free nation's freedom of choice that elected our officials, presidential or otherwise. I prayed for wisdom and prayed for the well-being of the person I did not choose to represent our great nation. I am in great dismay as I (and all other nations)watch Americans accept and even encourage the disrespect of our new president. Shame on all who will weaken our nation and question our freedom of choice. Prayer is my only weapon, and it is used daily! Thank you, Bob, for being a voice for so many that are tired, dismayed, and disappointed in American citizens as they continue to convulse in tantrums leaded towards nothing.

thumbsup.gif I think it is even more than this. I think both democrats and some republicans want to go back to the same old way of doing business. Slow plodding government with money going into every politicians pockets and wasteful spending galore. We have lost the vision of what government should be and why it is there in the first place. We the people no longer matters.....it is what can I get out of it for myself. I truly fear for our nation and its institutions when the CIA, NSA, and FBI are politicized to benefit some political agenda. I think this county is in trouble and the democrats and some republicans are pouring gasoline on the fire.

I find it ironic how the high-minded left "reminded" conservatives that they must accept the outcome of the election only to be roundly shocked by the actual results. Evidently acceptance is only something that needs to be practiced by conservatives when the lose.

Who knew that love trumping hate would involve so much arson and violence?

thumbsup.gif Last year when I cast my ballot, I fully expected that Trump would lose to Clinton. It was based upon how the mass media was portraying the race; that Hillary was out in front and that the election was hers to lose. I expected that Trump would lose and that I would just have to accept it. Life would go on, just as it had under Obama, with a bit of aggravation. But this time around I won, or rather, we won. There were several reasons that I wanted Trump for president and now, after the election, I can see what kind of people wanted Hillary for president. And it has really convinced me that the right candidate won.

This is an excellent column. I have never seen such venom directed toward a new President. Usually there is what is called a honeymoon period. The main stream media was able to run Nixon out of office by unremitting attacks. And remember they said this would prevent future corruption in government. For me this is uncharted territory. The media no longer has the prestige it once carried and it is easier to simply bypass them now. Trump was able to win despite media opposition. But I have never seen this intensity of attack on an administration and I don't know if they will be successful in destroying Trump or they will completely discredit themselves and become a joke in the eyes of most of the American public.
