WHITE GOVERNMENT KILLED THE BLACK FATHER
The white government has taken the place of the black father.
And it's mostly black people who want it that way. Black people and the liberals who speak for them.
For three generations now the black father has been made ever more meaningless by expanding government programs -- white government programs. He's not needed to provide for the family, he's not needed to watch the baby, he's not needed to give counseling or offer recreation, he's not needed for anything. And if he stays around, and actually marries a woman he impregnates, she loses money.
White government money.
In slave days they literally castrated black men, now they do it with a welfare check.
And white government programs.
And, yes, they are white government programs. The people who work in them might be black, and the clients might be black, but the policy and the purse are controlled by white people. If you plant the cotton where the white man tells you to, and hoe the cotton when you the white man tells you to, and pick the cotton the way the white man tells you to, it isn't your cotton. And you're not a farmer. You're a slave.
And if your babies are raised by the white man's programs, they're not your babies.
Which probably explains the curse of big city juvenile crime.
There is a dearth of parenting in many innercities. Overwhelmingly, the victims are black children. Proof is the high rate of illegitimate birth, far lower educational achievement and an incredible tendancy toward breaking the law.
That is the curse that weighs down black America, not slavery. At least not the slavery of chains, that has been replaced by the slavery of programs.
And all the while people, mostly black people, are calling for more programs. Day cares, and recreation, and mentoring, and guidance, and conflict resolution, and anger management, and cultural training, and homework clinics, even basketball training. Everything. Everything which should be provided by a mom and a dad. A black mom and dad. But instead they're being provided by white government.
And that causes problems. Because the only people who love your children are you, no matter who you are. And the other man will never raise your sons the same way you will. He will never raise them as well.
So white government programs teach white kids how to work and black kids how to jump rope. White kids go to Brain Stormers competitions and black kids go to double dutch competitions. It's the new type of institutional racism, the kind the victims ask for. When the overseer whipped the slave, he knew to hate it. The sinister aspect of today's slavery is the victim is conned into loving it, and asking for it, even insisting on it.
And black America will be held down until that changes.
Because nobody every had anything handed to him. This is a sweat-of-your-brow world, where you get ahead if you earn your way ahead. Where your merit has to get you what you have. And the surest route to personal, economic, spiritual and social success is a happy, values-based, successful upbringing. These white government programs all but assure that the lion's share of impoverished black children will never have that.
They, therefore, all but assure that the lion's share of impoverished black children will never rise about their circumstances. Will never truly be free. Will never truly have independence and power.
For generation after generation.
This society must recognize the failings of the urban black family, and it must recognize the source of those failings. It's not slavery, from 140 years ago. It's the white government programs and welfare checks of today.
Because though the white government can displace the black father, it can never replace him.
And black children and families will go wanting, and the society around them will continue to disintegrate, at the heartbreaking cost of untold millions of young lives deprived of their God-given potential.
